POLS-459: The Politics of Poverty

Are you interested in learning about poverty in America while also having the opportunity to gain some community service experience?

POLS-459: The Politics of Poverty will be offered TTH 2-4 pm in Spring quarter with an optional service learning component. Service learning is an approach to experiential learning that employs a community service experience as one tool to teach the course material. For POLS-459, students who want to do the service learning option will volunteer for a shift at the ECHO Homeless Shelter. The volunteer experience at ECHO is intertwined with the themes of the course--poverty, economic inequality, and homelessness in the U.S.
